Hmm can't sync via usb

I'm having serious problems with my X5 syncing by usb cable. In connection settings on the pc, the box allowing connections via usb is checked and the staus says connnected. However, both the pc and the X5 says not connected. I'm running WM2003, WinXP pro, and Active sync 3.8. I was able to connect using my wireless connection, but I removed and reinstalled active sync and I haven't tried checking the box to allow network connections. When I reinstalled active sync xp pro detects new device (the x5) and says its ready for use, but active sync's status says waiting for device to connect.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

try turning off your firewall and antivirus if you are using either of them. Make sure that you actually stop them not just disable. If you are using firewall it is most likely that you have not enabled it to allow the connection but you can play with that once you get it working. do a search around here and you will find this problem and some solutions. welcome to the site!
