Active Sync Won't Connect

After spending a couple of days on the road using Wi-Fi and BT-dial-up, I wanted to syncrhonize my Axim to my desktop. It worked before I left. Now, I can't get connection.

When I go to the Start menu, and click on Active Sync, the top window says not connected. I tap on the green sync button, and I get a cannot connect message which appaears to be the default BT dial-up cannot connect message:

"Dialed: #777
Cannot connect for an unknown reason. To check your connection settings"

I also have another message which says, "Unable to connect. You may have lost network connectivity."

My cradle connects to my PC via USB. When I place the Axim on the cradle, I get some sounds from the PC. The actual connection appears good, but the Axim and the PC cannot see each other.

Can anyone help?

I would have to guess it's trying to dial out through your bluetooth phone using the bluetooth dial up modem. In the Axim's bluetooth manager tell it what you want it to connect to.

Is your craddle connected via USB hub? Sounds a little like you've got a bad connection.

I'd also suggest that you try "Get Connected" (in activesync) and see what happens.

That's definitely what is happening, but it is just a symptom. he is telling the Axim that he wants to sync. The Axim tries to sync, can't connect through the craddle, and then assumes he is trying to connect through BT. Its an activesync issue and the Bluetooth manager is sort of irrelevant.
