Yes Gary, you're right. I have to remove my WiFi card so it doesn't get snapped off!
Everkleer, sometimes just my PPC tries to connect and some times both try to sync, but unsuccessfully.

Would it be possible to try my last suggestion: Anyway, what happens if u bring [the wireless card] to work and plug it back in b4 opening the comp (and don't take it out till u close the comp so it's never out while the comp is on)?
That would probably tell us whether the card has anything to do with it...

Everkleer, I tried your suggestion and still have the same problem. But... I've figured out that I can sync with my WiFi card in the laptop without re-booting. I guess thats my answer if I don't feel like re-booting every morning!

Well glad I could help, even if not to fix your problem...
BTW, if you just close your laptop after sucessfully syncing then open it again like 30 seconds later, does that give you the problem? If so, maybe there's something in the power control panel that would help... You've probably checked the control panel already though...

I just tried your suggestion. I left my X50 in it's cradle with Activesync showing a status of "connected". I then closed my laptop for 30 seconds. Now that the laptop is closed I noticed on the X50 that the Activesync status is "not connected". I re-opend my laptop and saw Activesync trying to establish a connection with the X50 in it's cradle. 5 minutes have gone by and my laptop is still trying to connect. My X50 still says "Not Connected"...
The only thing I had to do was remove it from it's cradle and replace it... and it works. But trust me... that doesn't work in the morning!
Hmmmmmmmmm

Have you tried the USB problem solver from PC World in the post above? It seems that something is going crazy with the USB ports, it may have worked this time because the cradle was still plugged in to the laptop, I wonder what would have happened if you had unplugged the cradle and then plugged it back in.
Gary

WEIRD... to complicate things, I plugged my cradle in this morning and it sync'd right away... no re-boot!
Gary, I tried what you said (after my successful sync this morning). I unplugged the cradle from the USB port for 30 seconds and plugged it back in. It connected right away and sync'd.
Go figure!

... So your saying the problem mysteriously cleared up? That's always great when that happens but it leaves you with an uneasy feeling...

I have the same problem. Dell Laptop comes back from Standby, no Activesync icon on the taskbar. Put X51 into the cradle, it connects but activesync does not startup, no icon, nothing. Mouse pointer just goes to hourglass then back to arrow......

It's a USB power issue. Using the PC World fix that was stated above should resolve it. However, one thing I have found is that some laptops (not sure if Dell does this or not with the Latitude, but my Inspiron doesn't) will have the BIOS turn off the USB ports when in suspend mode. Unfortunately, you can tell windows not to do it, but that won't make a difference.

I did the PC World quickfix, but it reported everything is in order. BTW laptop is a Dell Inspiron 5160. When is Ms going to fix the countless USB problems?
