My take on the t-mobile G1 phone
The G1 is a great consumer device, 3G coverage in my area has been a bit spotty but I contribulte that to the terrain features in my part of Boston, MA. The built-in Goggle apps are a joy to use. The screen is very responsive and the track ball navigation is a great feature that I hope to see more of in upcoming devices. The keyboard on the G1 is a texters dream and just on the basis of that I can see a great future for this phone.
From my experience it appears that frames are not supported in the Browser. This was a big dissapointment to me because I love reading books online over at baen.com. The Android Market has a free app that allows you to sync your outlook contacts with your phone but the G1 does not support any other Outlook features.
The GPS in conjunction with MAPS was very quick to pickup satellites once I was outside with a clear view of the southern sky but was unable to pick up a signal indoors in my triple-deckers 3rd floor apartment or on the porch.
The hoped for USB to headphone adapter was not includd in my box. I'll be playing with the music player later today once I figure out how to put in those earbuds. I normally don't use earbuds for music.
