Figured this thread would come along sooner or later so why not get it started. List your favorite apps for the Droid and thier cost. Here's mine.
1. PDANet (free) - Links your droid to your laptop to allow pass through to the 3G network for internet. Works great. Connection is faster that any wifi hotspots I've used.
2. WeatherBug (free) - Get current weather and forcasts for your area and anywhere else.
3. Key Ring (free) - Gets all those store cards (kroger, Winn Dixie, CVS etc.) out of your wallet and on your droid. Just pull up the bar code and wave your Droid accross the scanner.
4. ShopSavvy (free) - Scan barcodes of items while you shop and it lists prices and availablity in your area and on the internet.
5. SayMyName (free) - When someone in your contacts list calls you your Droid speaks their name.
6. Shazam (free) - Listens to music on the radio and tells you the name of the song and the artist.

I decided on the Eris over the Droid myself; I just upgraded a couple of weeks ago. My favorite apps (in no particular order):
1. Swift (free) [Twitter app]. I used Twidroid for a while, I tried Seesmic, but I've settled on Swift.
2. LastPass ($1 a month). Password/secure note keeper. I use it on my desktop, but I also have the Android app (it's free for the desktop but mobile integration costs $1 per month.) It's pretty nice, plus it has an internal browser that allows you to autologin using the stored credentials.
3. Evernote (free). Fantastic!! I've been using Evernote for a long time now, and the Android app is really nice.
4. Locale (free). Allows you to set ringtones, screen brightness, wireless settings based on specific conditions - time, battery strength, etc. For example, I have ringtones turn off each night at 11:30 and turn back on each morning at 7:00 (except Sundays, when they turn on at 8:00.)
5. Amazon (free). You can snap a photo of an object, or scan a barcode, and it will come back with the product on amazon.com, if it's available there.
6. SMS Backup (free, I think). It automaticalls backs up all sent and received sms messages to a label in your gmail account, archiving them (so that they do not pop up in your inbox.)
7. Shazam, for reason listed above.
8. Flixster (free). Get movie times, view trailers, etc.
I have a few other apps as well, but I don't use them all that much. Find Starbucks; I suppose I could do that with Google Maps. I installed Google Voice, but haven't used it at all.
At some point I'll give it a try, but at home I have no 3G coverage, and anytime that I am somewhere with my laptop I am in a place with WiFi. At some point I'll probably try it, though, if nobody beats me to it.
Bump (free)- Share files, photos and contact info by "bumping" phones together. My wife and I both downloaded this one last night and it works great. Made it simple to move a bunch of pictures and contact info from my Droid to hers. I have a buddy here at work with an iPhone. Gonna check to see if it will work across different platforms.
