Where do I go on the internet to talk about the I phone. I use Micro Soft Outlook at the office. If I purchase an I-phone will I be able to sync with the address book and calendar. I understand I will not be on the Elite boardband which is slow. but will I be able to get my e-mails.
i have an iPhone and its the edge connection i believe you are talking about and its slow on heavy image sites such as gizmodo but its still relatively fast and functional plus with the full html browser it cant be beat.
And yes you can set up an email account with Yahoo, Gmail, Mac, and AOL but it has support for imap, pop, and exchange. As for the outlook sync i dont use that method so i dont know.
It depends on what type of email. Exchange/Outlook is supported, but only to an extent (IMAP must be enabled) you should probaby ask your it guys. I am currently writing this from an iPhone, actually.

There are numerous iPhone sites out there. Google "iphone forums." I switched from Windows Mobile (Cingular 2125) to an iPhone chiefly because all the new AT&T WM phones' unlimited data plans were $30/mo and up and that gorgeous iPhone screen. I've been very happy with it. I use IMAP for GMail and read dozens of RSS feeds so the slow EDGE doesn't affect me as much as trying to read full sites. Full sites are very readable; you just have to wait a bit for the graphic-heavy sites, as mentioned by ZachM902.
Now I see that the new 3G iPhone will also require $30/mo data plan. I'll be looking closely at the Android phones when they come out. Exceeding $20/mo on a data plan is kind of a psychological upper bound for me. 3G may be fast, but it's tough paying as much for 3G as I do for 20Mb/s Verizon FiOS!
The current iphone does sync with Outlook once it is connected via USB to your computer. According to Apple, the new 3G phone will be able to use a new service of theirs called MobileMe that will pull email from your whatever your email server is to your iphone. This service though will cost $99 per year. Bummer eh?
However, my friends who have an iphone and have the AT&T data plan can access their AOL and Yahoo email without any problems.
I setup mine with Gmail and a Corporate Exchange Server. I get my mail no matter where I am so far anyway. For instance I was a a leash free park with my dog and was able to get and send mail with the 3G network. Hopefully it wont be too expensive when I get my first bill.

Assuming you are on a legit iPhone plan, Frenchy, and that you didn't remove the $30 data plan for some reason, you have "unlimited" data. You won't be charged for that.

I read somewhere that teh screen keyboard was not available if you turn the iPhone sideways. Yesterday I was reading some mail and try to respond to one of them. Guess what the keyboard appeared sideways so this statement is obviously wrong.
