I just bought an invisible horizontal casing made of plastic to protect my iphone. You need to be very careful when you are using your iphone. Once upon a time my iphone dropped and did not work out and this made me really disappointed. I am happy with my protection case now.

a quick question. I have currently the HP 211 with the piel frama leather case - which has a flip cover, as well as a screen protector.

I am going to be getting an itouch 1st generation (family member upgrading to iphone) and so I was wondering if others out there have had expereince with the type of protection from cases out there. I was looking at the contour design showcase premium protection:
Contour Design | Showcase | retail.contourdesign.com

which supposedly includes a proction for the screen. Does it really proect the screen if I put it in my backpack? Are there any cases out there like what I described for my 211? Advice?

Thanks!

Ceril, here's a review of the Contour Design, and a video review that shows that the screen itself doesn't appear to be protected (the commentary made me chuckle...was Keanu Reeves doing the narration? ).
Myself, I have a Sena Premium (how I hate that marketing word of late) Stand case.front1.jpg

Thanks Breley for the links. I looked at the case and wasn't that impressed. I had forgotten about Sena cases, and then I saw the Sena Magnet Flipper Case - which look almost perfect for my uses. It is a bit pricey - but it *IS* Sena. I will probably get one of those and a ZAGG invisiSHIELD cover and that should be more than enough to protect it in my backpack.

For those of you who have used or currently use the ZAGG invisiSHIELD - did you get the back coverage as well as the front coverage? If so, why? If not, why? Thanks!

Thanks for the help!

I, actually, use no case. IMO, the iPhone is best naked (), and I'm careful/ultra-possessive enough with it not to worry about dropping it...so far.

zacharace - I have a nephew who feels and acts the same as you. I am a bit more "anal" in the beginning about the issue because I am so not "anal" during the rest of my day.....my mess is famous in my county! :)

It's such a sleek and sexy machine - it would be too bad for me if I ruin it because I am hurrying to yet another meeting that I "almost" forgot!

I use Vaja Black iVolution grip leather case for my Apple iPhone 3G. It is soft,comfortable and good looking. Its leather hides have a matte finish and a smooth appearance that attracted me most at the time of purchase.

I like it without anything on it permanently. Though for the protection of the screen for the time being when it is in my pocket with the keychain, I got myself a thin lather cover.

I also bought a few cases and finally reverted back to the first two case that I originally purchased. The clear Zagg and a vertical pouch. It will do for me util something really good comes out. My problem with the Zagg was that I also had a screen protector so the double layer interfere with the touch commands.

My ideal case which I haven't found yet would be a vertical pouch with hard plastic belt clip. No velcro but a magnet closing, leather, soft inside to prevent scratching, and easy to get the phone out. I have seen a few similar to this but so far nothing really good. Quality is everything

I just got a metal case for my iphone. This is a super cool case which keeps my iphone protected at my all hard times. Last year my iphone got wet in rain and I was so disappointed. Now I am satisfied with my new iphone case and it's attaractive shape and design always attracts others.

Over the past months I have bought loads of cases as I still couldn't decided on what I wanted, I have...

* Full leather flip case - 360o belt clip
* Hard plastic shell case
* Silicone case
* Hip holster*
* i-wrapz skin*

I current have the i-wrapz Flaming Skull skin with my Hip holster (See attached copy.) this wrap is slightly padded and also sticks to glass, plastic, tiles. Feels great gives extra grip when taking it out of the holster.

Otterbox

I work outside a lot, so I went with the Otterbox for maximum protection. It is the only case I found that covered the screen and the camera. My thoughts on it are camera protection is as important as the screen, because it is not like my old Tilt where I could have just switched the back cover for a new "lens cover".

I am using a leather case which is beautifully designed. But now I am interested to buy a metallic case which will be more useful. Metallic cases are hard enough to protect your iphone and it will protect in rain too.
