Aximsiteactivesyncicon [TIP] - iPhone with your exchange server - it DOES work

Some people have found that the iPhone will automatically try and pull in the server settings using just your email address. Like many others, I have disabled this setting on my customers servers(I have my reasons). In doing this, the iphone will fail to verify the server. Here's how to make it work:

This may not be a tip -per say- rather than an 'open your eyes' post.

On the final step, when adding your exchange server, it asks for your email address, username, password...yada yada

Click next - it fails (if your server doesn't accept incoming pings)

What isn't obvious however, is that after it fails, a little box pops up for you to put in the server manually. I've had many reps for the company I do work for complain that our email 'doesn't work' with the iphone. After this little fix, everything works a-ok
