iPhone and passwords

Hello iPhone users! I have an important question. I have a friend who loves Facebook and other sites. She wants to manually enter her password every time so that nobody (her husband) can pick up the phone and log into her account. Can this be done? How?

Thanks!

Has she asked at her local Apple store? The genius bar folks should be able to give her an answer.

Too bad this isn't the password for the running account - only single user mode (assuming it's anything like OS X).

Haven't these idiots heard of netinfo?

The Facebook app I have on my iPod Touch (not sure how similar this is to the iPhone's) permits users to log in/out and prevent access, just like the web-based version.

If your friend wants to lock her phone, go to Settings--> General, then on the General screen click on Passcode Lock, which will open the Set Passcode screen. She can then enter a 4-digit code, then and re-enter it when prompted.

You will now be at the Passcode Lock screen. You can change when you are prompted to enter the Passcode. The default setting, Require Passcode : Immediately means she'll need to enter the password every time she wants to use the iPhone, but can be set to 1, 5, 15 minutes or 1 or 4 hours.

There is also a nuclear feature that permits the iPhone to erase all data on the iPod/iPhone after 10 failed attempts.

Also, on the General page is a setting for Auto-Lock, with 1-5 minutes or Never as options, and a Safari setting where you can manually clear the cache, history and cookies.

Of course there is a way. She can log in each time manually if she wants. Whenever she logs in, she should remove the tick button from the box named "Remember Me". I hope it works for her and she stays calm.

Setting the passcode & unchecking the 'Remember Me' option both if combined will work more effectively. And resetting the safari each time after you finish surfing is also a wise move. I always do that to erase all offline data.
