On Windows CE, Microsoft had a "Powertoy" add on that added Touchtone dialing to contacts..

But, even after finding it, it won't install on the Axim...

I found a supposed patch, but that patch will only install IF the powertoy is installed. But it won't install on the Axim. Says nonsupported device...

So, does anyone know if there's any OTHER option for touchtone dialing for the Axim?

Preferably free :-), since it used to be free...

I also saw something on the web about a program called tonephone, but it's nowhere to be found....

Thanx, Desi

Check this out. Might be what you are looking for:

(Note-this is FREE - (I think))

or try:

Just some things I found quickly. Not tested!

The top one you linked to seems good, but would require him to have a Bluetooth cell phone in order for the dialer to work.

I think he is looking for something more like this: PhoneTone

This program basically just outputs the TouchTone dialing through the PPC speaker, and you just hold the speaker up to the phone. This PhoneTone software, though, does not appear to use the contacts in your address book.

On another note, I wonder if the Axim speaker will be clear enough on such high pitches (on some tones) for it to dial properly? If anyone decides to test this out, post back. :)

Bah.....somehow forgot about the obvious one. :p

Applian Technologies, you know that big sponsor advertisement we have on the right-most side of the front page of Aximsite. Well, they have a product called Dial-a-Matic. It uses the names/numbers that are already entered in your contacts on your PPC. You can either dial out via speaker (using DTMF tones), or via modem if you have one installed on your PPC. They also have another product called Phone King that does the same thing, but via Bluetooth to a Bluetooth enabled cell phone.

They make great software, and are a good/reputable company. They have a 15 Day Demo, so be sure to try it out and see what you think.

Thanks guys. That was a fast response. I am trying the Dial-a-Matic. It works well. I do wish there was a way to have a dialing option to work seamlessly with my current directory on there, instead of having its own graphical display. Either have the option in my pocket informant I have installed or part of the OS in general. Maybe someday. Thanks again.
