The ones I've downloaded from the PTVL web site are .esz files, not .zip files. I have seen some other places where the provider has either changed the extension to .zip or added a .zip extension to the .esz extension, since apparently .zip files are more universally downloadable.

Definitely ZIP

I totally give up; I just cannot understand and I cannot get it to work; my bad;

If I proceed to the link here ..http://ptvl.thumbsupsoft.com/skins.htm .. and then when all screens are displayed, I choose whathever screen by RIGHT-CLICKING and choosing the SAVE TARGET AS; the pop-up window defaults to FILENAME: PADD and SAVE AS TYPE: Compressed (zipped)Folder.; even if I change the SAVE AS FILE TYPE to ALL Files, the file download indicates SAVING: PADD.ZIP deom PVLTHUMBSUPSOFT.COM

If I then right-click on the saved file on my desktop (PADD.ZIP) and I use RENAME to change to PADD.EZL then drag and drop it through ActiveSync on my Thumbs Up! Pocket TV Listings folder on my SD card in my axim, when I use Explorer to go to this folder I see (cache folder, color,txt, default.esz, listings.dat, PinStripes.int, PTVL application and PADD.ezl zipped folder);

On my axim, if I go to POCKET TV Listings, choose LISTINGS->SETUP-> under Select Skin all I have is Default.esz!

I must be doing something very stupid, but for the life of me I don't know what it is!

try another browser. and they are not .ezl they have to be .esz.

just to test if it works for you I'm attaching the matrix skin here. download it, unzip it (forum only lets u attach zipped files) and move the skin to your PTVL root directory.
Attached Files:
File Type: zip Matrix.zip (30.7 KB, 2 views)

GO FIGURE; your file worked right away; then I repeated the procedure EXACTLY as I did tens of times earlier on, EXCEPT I used FIREFOX instead of EXPLORER and you know what???!!! The SAVE TARGET FILES were all .ESZ

I just cannot understand! but it works,

Akheron - thanks a million!

Related question: Looks like calendar-updates has closed their tv listings area. They are linked to Zapit. When on the Zapit website, I am unable to get the items to load to Outlook.

Anyone have ideas on how to do this (without just cutting and pasting) or alternative websites that will work with Outlook? Help would be appreciated.

You can find a few scattered around by doing a Google search.

The website is down and PTVL is not working.. AGAIN. I wonder if it is ok to reprogram it since it is free and out of development/support.

Working fine for me. I haven't had a problem with the automatic downloading in months. Finished on 9/16/06 at two minutes past midnight with over 12,000 programs downloaded.
