As rsaturn9 suggested, have you tried it with firewalls disabled? If you really want to use this, you could also try a hard reset with no restore to see if it will work on a "fresh" Axim. You may have some software conflicts.

the firewall thing doesn't make sense if it works sometimes and not others and can send messages, get 2 messages then stop getting messages...
