Heart Sprite Backup & Clone

I am replacing my defective X50 with another one (hopefully is coming soon). I am wondering if anybody has tried to restore the backup of 1 Axim to another Axim using Sprite backup?
:)

Write down the ROM version you have.
If it's the same on the new one, just restore.
If it isn't, I recommend reinstalling your programs one at a time.
I know, pain in the rear, but it's the best way to make sure you don't have any registry issues.
Some have been able to restore across ROM versions, but it's a crap shoot.
It may work...It may not.

Agreed, but that's where Sprite backup comes to play. Sprite does backup/restore across ROM versions very well. The restore process has built-in capability to not to restore the system files.

In addition, I read, you can even restore across different devices running same OS of cource (e.g. 2003SE). And that is why I asked if anyboy has sucessfully done that?

If you go to the Sprite forums, you'll see complaints of users it didn't work for.
Of course, you won't see posts if it went as planned.

Yes, you can do it using the Device upgrade option in Sprite, used it when my X50v was replaced, and I was up and running in less than 5 minutes, that was over a month ago, and I've not had any problems at all.
