Avantgo now offering RSS support

Avantgo, either you love it or hate it, now has a RSS beta program going on whereas you can add RSS feeds along with your regular channels. (They're only several months late to the RSS party)

Worked fine for me, and looks pretty decent, includes images with feeds if they are present. The Aximsite RSS feed came over nicely.

And since RSS feeds are smaller in size than the online channels Avantgo offers, I can add a lot more content to my free 3MB acct.

You add RSS feeds in the same manner as custom channels. Even if you don't know the exact link to the feed, you can just enter in the website's home page URL for the RSS feed & Avantgo will go out and get the exact link to the feed for you.

I'm still using the old embedded PIE version of Avantgo (since Avantgo still lacks VGA support in their latest version). So not sure how it looks/works on their latest version.

Just thought I'd share...

I'm probably missing something. But when I added a channel, it would only download the article titles and not rest of the text in the RSS feed. If I clicked on the articles title it would access the internet and download the rest of the text, if I disabled internet access I would get an error message saying I needed to connect to the internet.

I realise some RSS feeds only have articles titles, but I had added Boing, Boing, which includes text and images in it;s RSS feed.
