Viewing Mem Usage?

OK I am in need of a program that will show me the running tasks and the amount of memory that each task is using (not storage space). I tried a few programs but I have not found any that will show me the memory usage. Thanks in advance.

Lots of programs show the total memory useage, but I don't know of any that break it down by task, or that separate storage from program memory. I guess it's because the OS is always trying to optimize the storage/program split, and because many programs change their program memory use dynamically.

Even though I get hooted down every time I say this, my favorite memory use indicator is Gigabar, because of all the other functions it includes, and because it is rock solid stable.

Yeah I really need something that reports memory usage by task. Like NT's task manager or XP Pro's. The reason is that it shows that 7 megs are being used and I only have very little running. SO I want to find out who is being the memory hog or if something has a memory leak. Thanks though for the suggestion.

Maybe you could try closing tasks one at a time, noting the memory usage each time, then manually figuring out what's going on. Also, I think the PPC suffers from a lot of memory leaks, which I mostly blame on poorly written applications (although I really have no evidence). Memory leaks are fixed with a soft reset.

This program sort of shows what you are asking, but not like the task manager...

In the sticky thread I post a link to a program called Task Manager from PHM, chekc it out.

If you want a CPU monitor on ppc screen Pocket Backup Plus has a great one too.
