I just received my x30high in the mail yesterday. I have been playing around with it all today. Is there any program out there similar to Microsoft PowerPoint for my x30? I realize Microsoft only bundles each PPC with PocketWord and PocketExcel.
I just did a search and found two great programs. Can anybody decipher between which of the two is better- "Pocket Slides" or "Pocket Slideshow?" Both can view and edit PowerPoints but I would like to know personal experiences before I install.
I have tried Clearvue, Pocket Slides and Pocket Slideshow. Clearvue worked but cannot be edited on your device. Of the remaining two, I found Pocket Slideshow to be better at converting my very long presentation (400MB) - Pocket Slides seemed to freeze each time I atttempted the conversion. There are demos of all of them to try - why don't you see for yourself.
I chose to buy Conduits Pocket Slides (over pocket slideshow) and ClearVue Suit.
Conduits Pocket Slides: full editing control, create any kind of slideshow right on your PPC! works great and I never had any conversion problems. But I never tried with a 400MB .ppt file like GiGi did.
ClearVue Powerpoint: view .ppt files on your PPC without any conversions.
Pocket Slideshow: very limited editing features. As far as I remember it only supported merging of slides and transition effects when I tried it. I'm not sure (Gigi might be able to correct me there) but I don't think it even lets you create any new slideshows! I wouldn't recommend it.

Is it me or does Clearvue has distortion? It's really blurry. I dislike the fact to have to convert with PocketSlides. It's a hassle. With such a small pda screen, it is very unlikely that I will edit anything because I am viewing lecture material that my professor has put on a powerpoint. PocketSlides is very clear.
looks good on my x50v... it also looked good on my old MDA Compact (which wasn't VGA) but I didn't really use it much on the MDA

I use Clearvue. The only problem I have found is that when you go from your computer to you Axim the text on the slides break at a different point. This means you have to edit the slides on the computer then check the presentation on your Axim.

my professor used some "shadow" on his fonts so i took that off on my pc. it helped a little bit when i viewed it again on my pda. it's only blurry when the fonts are small. however, pocket slides on my x30 is super clear even with the text shadow on.
