Some programs need to be "deactivated" from within the program itself. Check through some of the apps "options" or "about" screens for any indication of this.

If it is a program that operates on the Today screen, you might need to go to Settings>Today>Items and select the app and then tap "options".

You can also try this app, called Remover

I hope this isn't too obvious, but you should do a soft reset before uninstalling.

to elaborate
deactivate the program and then soft reset.
You can't delete a file that is in use.
You may have to remove a shortcut from the startup folder and then reset.

Thanks Guys!

I uninstall the program and did a soft reset. I am able to remove it from the menu and link BUT because of 'READ ONLY' file, I cannot remove the program (I mean delete the program) from the system. How do I change the file properties?

Thanks again!

Honestly - I'd recommend checking with the software manufacturer. There is almost always a caveat to uninstalling certain types of software - you'll often have to uninstall it from the desktop first, and then run around in a circle chanting and soft-reset the Axim.

But seriously - Check the manufacturer's website, read the help file, I'm sure there's something there. If not, contact the software company.

On an aside, what piece of software is it that you're having problems with?

Nick

It is the PocketSTMf. I can't delete it. I forgotten where I got it from.

If I hard reset it, everything will gone and I have to reinstall them again, right?

Alex,

Yes - you will have to reinstall everything, so try NOT to do a hard reset.

I found the page for PocketSTM, it's located here:

http://www.wdolphin.com/products/PocketSTM/

And on the FAQ located at this site, the following uninstall instructions are listed:

Quote:
Q1) How do I uninstall PocketSTM ?
A1) To uninstall PocketSTM, it is very important to close the application. Tap the left control panel icon (task management element) and choose 'Help/About/Exit->Exit' to close PocketSTM. Next, go to Start->settings->remove programs. Choose 'White Dolphin...' and remove it.
There you go! :) Hope that helps.
