Files not being found in My Docs (CF Card)

Seems a few programs are not finding the files I have in a folder I made on my CF card, "My Documents". Been using SPB's Folder (PP+ plug-in) too, and it too does not find the files on my CF card under My Documents.

I removed that "ignore_my_docs" file from the CF card, and it only resides on my SD card that holds my music files.

Unless I move the files from my CF card over to the RAM "My Documents" it does not find them.

I even have some files I used in Pocket Word I store on CF or BIS, and these are not found vis the My Documents in programs; unless moved to the default RAM folder.

So, is there a registry tweak that I can add/edit to make the CF card's My Documents folder be seen too?

I would rather keep my docs on the CF card, yet annoying not to be able to retrieve them via my docs options in various programs.

This is what I sent to SPB Tech Support: (got the flu, hope it came out good)

I will try and explain.
- First off, this issue is in regards to the Folder plug-in for Pocket Plus.
- I have PP+ running for the Today page, and have integrated the Weather, Folder, and ToPlay.
- I have files on my CF card, under My Documents.
- The "ignore_my_docs" files has been removed from my CF card long ago.
- When I selected to have documents displayed under the Folder tab, I find they are not listed in My Documents.
- If I click the Add, find the documents I want displayed, they go in to the Custom category.
- Even though the document files have names, when tapping Okay and going to the Today page, only the icons for the documents are displayed... not the names beside them!
- So, how do I get the documents to display the name next to them?

- Or, how do I get the My Documents folder to see the My Documents fodler on my CF card too?

I have Pocket Plus, Weather, Time, Tips & Tricks programs installed, and the Imageer trial.

I am using a Dell Axim X50v, with 2003SE. I have a 512 MB CF and a 512 MB SD cards.

I want to display certain documents in a Pocket Plus Today page tab, with the icons alongside the text of the document.

What I am getting is lost of word documents lined up side-by-side with no text. That I don't want. I want is displayed like
""

Thank You.

Cool Ahoy! Alternatives!

Some food for thought...

Removed the "ignore_my_docs" long ago. Yet:

1) Looking at my notes via SPB's Diary, I see the notes stored in My Documents on the CF card.

2) Trying to find documents (word/excel files) via the default My Documents folder, totally does not see the files in the same folder on my CF card. Only the files stored in the default My Documents folder is shown.

3) Using SPB's Pocket Plus; Adding a new tab, this one is the free Folder plug-in. Look under My Documents, noting is seen on the storage cards.
This means if I add a document or file from my storage card, and put it in a tab, only an icon will display. No text, which is what the Folder plug-in is supposed to do... show the text alongside the icon.
To go one further, I can change the path to view the My Documents on the CF card, which in turn won't see the default My Documents folder.

4) There does not seem to be a method of combining the default My Docs folder to any others of the same name on storage media. The OS only sees files in the default location. The OS cannot see extensions of the My Documents folder.

5) To get what I want, I have two choices;

5a) Drag a shortcut of the My Docs folder on the CF card over to the default My Docs folder, and change the icon.
Tapping the icon (no text is displayed alongside the icon btw) send me to a File Explorer view of the CF card's My Docs folder.
or
5b) Tap & hold in the Folders tab, tap Options... From here change the path of "\My Documents" to "\CF Card\My Documents" using the [...] browse button.
Next, you have to select options or get flooded with information that may be stored in Diary.
I chose "Include files in subfolders" & "Do not include templates", 4 Rows, 1 Column, Show size not checked, Show date is checked.
Then over to the Documents tab. I have checked only Pocket Word, Pocket Excel, and Text Files. Notes I removed as I have these in Diary already.

Now I get a nice lil display of what I wanted. Look here at my Today page!

Changed the columns to 2 (default) which removed the date, and get this lovely view!
