Rotate Screen Orientation

People,

I have a question, while on the Train I usually read emails or large documents that I sync to Axim. For a person like me who needs a large font to read, it's annoying to continue on tapping the buttons every so often...

Is there any application that will rotate the screen orientation by 90 degrees so that I can read it the long way utilizing the vertical length of Axim...

I like the freeware for this if there is one :)

Thanks in advance for your help...;)

The Pockettop Keyboard Driver that you can download for free off this site allows you to put the screen in landscape mode.

You could also try JS Landscape X.

I have no idea if it works with the Axim or not...

FYI, Smeg36, the link to the Aximsite Pockettop thread is dead....

I'll try a google or handango search for it. Thanks for the tip!

Yeah, I realized the link didn't work after I posted it. You can find the download under the downloads section of Aximsite, or from here http://www.aximsite.com/modules.php?...ownload&cid=12
Hope that link works.

ok I tried the pockettop driver, I like holding my PDA in landscape. I don't like that it wants to reset every time I change so I want to get rid of it. How? remove progs keeps telling me the driver is loaded. Any idea how to unload the driver? remove from activesync has the same result.

You have to go into the Pocket Top Driver that allows you to go into landscape mode, but instead of setting it to landscape, check the box that says disable driver. Then you can remove it.

Thanks Smeg36 & CageyJames for the replied

I installed the one from Axim's Download site and like it, but now I have another problem that just happened a moment ago.

I went to a meeting and read my document in landscape mode, then I got a 'Reminder' from my Calendar. Since I cannot snooze and dismiss it, the screen stuck with the 'Reminder' message. I have to hard reset everything. Is there a way to remedy this beside removing the software :) thanks.

I may try the other software as well ...

No problem. I am just glad there is some way I can help someone, and try to repay for all the help I have recieved off this site.

Sorry, I don't quite know how to help you with the newest problem. I never have the reminder set. I always set is without a reminder.

Hmm...a way around this that I found is to enable the enter button on the 'Dell' button in the middle. So whenever I'm in landscape mode and a "reminder' pops up I can get rid of it by pressing the 'Dell' button. I don't know what it does(snooze or dismiss), but it really get rid of it.

Hope other people will benefit this..
I don't think I will get the other software cuz, I have to pay for it.

I tried rotating the orientation of the screen with the keyboard driver but ran into a problem when I had to enter my password and couldn't move the input screen downward to capture the keys in the last two rows i.e. 7-8-9-clr-0-entr. I ended up having to do a hard reset to get back into my Axim.

First thing I did was delete the keyboard driver!

I guess that's why the JS Landscape X is more superior because you can change the screen resolution to avoid these type of problems. I tried their demo version and it's only $9.99...for the full version.

That's the same as pushing in on the scroll dial you know, so you don't really have to install that...

http://www.nyditot.com -- this is a specialized applications just for this, it is a pay-app, but it can pan and scan, zoom, and so on, it can rotate on the fly if the res. is larger than the screen size, but to change resolution, you have ot soft reset, this is a major disadvantage of the PPC OS. This one also has the ability to change system colors, fonts and so on. It is compatible with the axim.
