Take the Axim out of the cradle (or disconnect the cable, whichever you use) and you should be able to delete the partnership. Then reconnect and it should be able to create a new partnership with the old name.

Thanks for the reply, but no joy. The 'Delete Partnership' selection remains greyed out. I am inclined (when I get back to the office tomorrow) to remove and reinstall AS 3.7. Seems like there ought to be a simple solution, but so far nuttin'.

Please help
Ok. Back at work. Delete Partnership was still greyed out. I uninstalled and reinstalled AS 3.7. Still no go. It only gives me the option of establishing a new partnership or being a guest. This really sucks. I haven't synced since yesterday morning and I rely on the Ax quite a bit when I'm not at the office.
I am really frustrated because everyone else's upgrade seems to be smooth as silk or a different kind of problem. Guess it was my turn.

That sucks. I had problems with my Ax not being recognized after the update, too. I just took it out of the cradle, while ActiveSyn is open), and deleting the partnership. I couldn't delete the partnership while the Ax was in the cradle, though. Wish I had some other ideas for you to try.

Well I'm back on track and syncing again. Maybe I was just too freaked out because it appeared there was a danger of losing all the info in the partnership (~850 contacts and a very full calendar).
Here's how it went. File>Delete Partnership choice was greyed out. Put Ax in cradle, ActiveSync started up and asked if I wanted to create a new partnership or be a guest. Chose new, and specified to sync with two computers. Deleted the partnership for the work computer (where I was) and it created a new partnership, went out and found the info to sync. HOWEVER, AS identified all the entries on both the PC and AX as not synced. In other words, double the contacts, files, calendar entries .... The saving grace was that I was sure not to make any changes or new entries on the Ax during the past 24 hours (except for snoozing calendar items) while the sync has been down. So instead of combining files, I specified that the PC files overwrite the Ax files. Note: the Ax was in the cradle through this whole process.
So far it looks like everything is there and it seems to be working fine. Just re-established the AvantGo sync. Thanks for letting me gripe. Maybe it was just me all along, but no one else reported these difficulties!

Recalling the advice when installing A02, I chose Guest when setting up a new partnership, did a soft reset and put my Ax back in the cradle. Selecting restore gave me my old partnership as a choice. Been working since.

Ah, but that assumes you were smart enough to perform a backup first. :)
