looking for better note taking

When I am in meetings, I like to use pocket word, in writing mode to take notes and draw diagrams, just like writing on paper.

It seems like there is room for improvement. My notes, no matter how careful I draw or write looks really bad . There must be some better software that is built for just this purpose .

Any recommendations?

Thanks!!

Hi twmiller. My suggestion is to use a software keyboard like Tengo Thumb. I made a roundup of all the software keyboards I could find and the link is in my signature. I found that the writing mode is too slow and inaccurate.

I know what you mean. I have a full screen keyboard that works great - but most of the meetings I go to also involve diagrams. I need something that I can mix writing and drawing. Something that has a smaller ink line and isn't so sluggish.

It would be nice if it could handle multiple pages - some of my meetings go for multiple hours.

Ok TW, try ADB idea. See the link in my pda. It's free. You can add new notes in the form of sketches, text, voice or file attachment. It's in a hierarchical list format and is easy to use.

I think you'd like to mix text and sketches in the same note. I'm not sure what does that but maybe phat pad or phat notes.

Let me know what you choose.

I didn't think about trying ADB idea I even have it already. Thanks for the idea.

Tonight, I am going to download some free trials from pocket gear for different programs and give them a test drive.

I have finally found the note taking application that I was looking for - and it works!!!

PhatPad 3.0.

If you want to write notes with out typing, tapping or hand writing recognition - just like a pad of paper, this is it. If you want to write words and sketch diagrams - this works.

The default note pad, when 'drawing' would mush all my words together when I save it - totally frustrating.

So, I am happy to say PhatPad 3.0 works :approve:
