Mobipocket 5 is here

Mobipocket 5 has now been released... and it's a LOT better than version4.

Quicker, better user interface, new PC desktop and best of all it looks fantastic, even in standard VGA mode.. (version 4 looked horrible :( )

I have been using 5.0 for a while now and it is great. I even paid for the pro version after having used the previous version for a couple of years and not been convinced. Nice interface and features.

The installer did not offer the option to install to BIS. Did I perhaps miss something?

I just moved the whole mobipocket folder from program files\ to storage card. I don't know if sync will still work.

Thanks, good to know. I'm not too concerned about sync as long as the PPC client still runs.

Well in the PC end you can tell it to sync to a card or main mem, so i dont think the location on the ppc is important.

Is MobiPocket 5.0 better or worse than ereader Pro? I have been using ereader pro for a while now and it is only $9.95 vs $19.99 for MobiPocket.

Will it open .lit files? I'm dying to find a better software than Microsoft Reader to read these.

from the FAQ: "You can't read eBooks in LIT format (these files can be read with the Microsoft Reader, on PocketPC only)." Sorry Inertial... I wish it would read these as well...

Those pesky FAQs!

I should really learn to read them once in awhile!

On second thought, I should think about trying this out. The only ebooks I read are ones I make from html or txt files anyway. No reason I need to stay tied to the LIT format!
