Remote controlling a PDA

Does anyone know of a way to remote control a PDA?

There are programs out there that will let you do that when your ax is synced. For example I have CERDisp, a remote display control, but there are plenty of other ones out there.

SOTI Pocket Controller is the best one I've seen because it can show a full VGA screen and doesn't have the graphics glitches I got with other apps. But don't try to turn on video acceleration on WM5 (not even to test mode) because when I tried it I ended up having to do a hard reset.

There's also Pocket Controller (very good), Microsoft's Remote Display (free), and VNC (a PPC server version is available).

Hmm...is there a way to use a universal remote control (a physical one) to control the media functions (e.g. play, stop, next, back, forward, etc...) on a pocket pc via IR?

This would be very useful if you attach your PPC to a portable speaker.

Sorry, I guess I should have clarified the "remote controlling." I was think more along the lines of what tallshorty is saying.

Well there's TONS of programs out there to go from one way to the other, but I've never heard of one that goes in the reverse direction, ie tallshorty's idea. It'd be kinda cool, but I kinda thought the idea of the ax was that you could carry it around. My brother has a whole house stereo plugged into a winamp server and uses remoteamp to control that. Works very well.

I've found plenty of threads on the subject with some even dating back to 2001, but they always seem to die off. It'd be nice to use an old camcorder remote to control a PDA while in the car. Guess I'll continue my search for source code and blow the dust off of the old programmers toolbox.

Let me know if you find anything. I would be very interested in this.

this would be perfect as i use the x50v as a presentation tool in college. a bt keyboard and mouse can do some of this, but the idea of a bt or ir dedicated remote control is what i seek.
