Understanding why so many softwares?

Hello, I would like to know why users install

-PocketInformant

-PocketBreeze

-Resco File Explorer 2005 v3

To me they all look like they do the same job. If I were to install these three, would I have to write the same notes in my calendar for each app, or will they automatically read the info and update themselves as I add notes.

I just don't get how this works. I really want Pocket Breeze on my PPC, but trying to figure out if I need the other 2.

Thx
Giorgio

One day I will be looking at my post and have a laugh at them for how stupid they are. But for now I need to learn.

Pocket Inforant replaces the built-in calendaring, tasks, and contacts application, providing enhanced views, filters, input screens, etc. Pocket Breeze is a Today Screen plugin that displays scheduled appointments, tasks etc.that are stored in the main calendaring app so you can check them at a glance, along with whatever else you use the Today Screen for, e.g. weather or stocks.

Resco File explorer is a system tool for managing the files stored on your Pocket PC. No overlap with the other two.

You can start with Pocket Breeze. You can add PI or Agenda Fusion later if you want, all of your entries will automatically be available as PI and AF use the built-in PIMs storage.

Hmm

Hmm, you're comparison doesn't make sense... They are all different...

I would've agree more if you said:

PW and WP
PB and Diary
Pocket plus and iLauncher

I use the example since I use this together... :approve:
Yeah, it doesn't make sense... lol

It would be far more tragic to not ask. As another response has already stated, they do fill different functions. I do happen to run all three. See the MyPDA link for more (and look at other's MyPDA links as well).

You might also look at the 2005 Pocket PC Magazine awards. Not that I agree with their choices; rather, that they do a pretty good job of inventorying the available software and classifying it, too. They don't list quite as many no-cost entries as cost.

Wow, I thought I was getting out of the loop. Maybe I do fit in!

gdl357:
There is a ton of software out there which is competing for your $$$ and that’s great because it is keeps the prices down (and the world going round) but the Ax ain’t all that bad out of the box. :approve: The only thing I bought so far was SPBTime, primarily for the analog pocket watch. I have a lot :yelrotflm of fun with it. (Just ask me what time it is, I press the “on” button and it pops up.) I have some freeware and when I think I need some software, I’ll buy it or freeware it. (View my PDA.) As soon as a get a few minutes I am getting Sprite back up. Ahhhh, should I get the regular or the super version? Don’t answer that.

I just installed a wireless router so I can eliminate some wires in the house and outside through windows, and yes, get the Ax connected at the house. I think it’s fantastic.

I am looking for a daily journal, notes for the day, type journal, something to assist my brain. Right now I am using a combination of outlook appointments, notes, tasks and word. There has to be a better way. Does anybody have any ideas?
