Does anyone have any real use for pocketDOS? I suppose the point of it is to open up the possibilty of using loads of old programs.
But what? Does anyone have a good use for PocketDOS?

Personally I use Pocket DOSBox by n0p. This is a port of the free PC app, DOSBox and this does run 386/486 stuff out of the box.
I use it to run all my favourite games from 10 years or so ago, the Bards Tale series, Championship Manager, Frontier (Elite II), Eye of the Beholder series etc

Makes my commute fly by!
Hmmm... I may have to check this out. I loved Dune.
Fallout had a DOS install option.... Any chance that would work?
I've been using this version of dosbox for a while and it plays fine on my X50v. Sound can stutter a bit on some games but overall it works fine, and in VGA too :) http://www.pocketwall.com/beta2/

I did a quick google and that seemed to suggest that Fallout is too slow even on a PC under DOSBox, so I imagine a PPC would struggle.
I had to give it a try!
I got it to install but when I tried to run it I received a memory error telling me there was not enough free memory. Oh well... Back to playing Wasteland on the Apple IIe emulator!! (which I tend to enjoy more than Fallout! I guess it's hard to let go of an old favorite....)

I haven't tried running Fallout myself, but there is a memsize option within DOSBox to allocate more memory. This might help, however I would still expect it to be too slow to play properly.
love this program. Cant do Scorched Earth though lol.
