Any battery indicator program for x51 that will not drain battery?

Hopefully they are free

I'm a little reluctant to give it a second try after using that battery indicator program that came with my x51v - but I decide to give it a second shot. How is magic buttons, ilauncher, vbar, and wisebar as far as draining incidences goes?

I use resco, some poeple say it dreams the battery but I haven't notice any drainage when using it. If i don't use it for a day the bat goes from 100% to 98% or so.. nothing to bad IMHO

Resco has an update to 5.30 that fixes the CF card showing as a SD card on the plugin. After installing the update, I now notice a significant battery drain on my x50v (WM2003SE). The update also shows the battery status as ??? after a soft reset until you do something (open the settings window for the plugin or launch another program, etc.). I think Resco has introduced a bug. I've posted a message on their forums about the ??? problem but haven't seen a response yet. I may roll-back to the earlier version of 5.30 and live with the CF card showing as a SD card until they have another update.

I used Resco until it started giving me trial expiration warnings (yesterday, I think). I didn't have the problems described with either 5.30 or the preceding version, on my X51V. No battery drain, the CF card was always properly represented, and the battery reading has been accurate. I do get the "high" message very briefly sometimes when I wake my Axim -- it turns on with the reading on "high" for a second or two and then settles down to the actual battery level. Which seems harmless enough.

EDIT: But does anyone know anything free that puts the battery level on the taskbar or the tray or the Today screen? I guess I've been defending WM5 a lot, but I cannot understand the thinking behind an operating system where the design method of finding out how full your battery is, is to go into system preferences.

Are you using the latest "build" of version 5.3? I wish Resco would add a build number to the version so we know what version we have. BTW...my battery indicator generally will show HIGH for a couple of seconds after turning the x50v on. Only shows ??? after a soft reset.

kbattery will do that, though it is very basic. It works with WM5, though it doesn't say so on the site.

I think I found the problem. If the Oddessy WiFi application is enabled on my x50v, the plugin battery status sticks at ??? after a soft reset until I do something to the device. If Oddessy is disabled, the staus shows as ??? for a few seconds after a soft reset and then returns to an actual reading. I'm now trying to determine if Oddessy is the reason I've seen a significant increase in battery drain (WiFi is turned off but Oddessy was enabled and running after a soft reset).
