Make it more readable

If anyone is interested in adjusting the appearance of the buttons, you can significantly improve the usability by making the emulator's buttons closer to the appearance of the actual key colors on the calculator.

All you have to do is change the bitmap in a photo editor.

For instance, here is the keyboard before and after tweaking the colors and some pixels on the characters.

I have also attached a zip file of the bit maps I did. Wombat2 (QVGA) and Wombat3 (VGA) to match up with the kml files.
Attached Images:
File Type: jpg Before.jpg (61.2 KB, 11 views)
File Type: jpg After.jpg (63.9 KB, 14 views)
Attached Files:
File Type: zip Wombat_Green_Purple.zip (13.8 KB, 7 views)

Thanks for making these available. I've tweaked a few myself, but would really like to learn enough of the kml files to create my own from scratch, unfortunately it doesn't look very intuitive to me.

I am considering making the VGA version from scratch, staying within the boundaries of the buttons. While tweaking the graphics I noticed that Wombat 3 was likely made by doubling the size of Wombat 2. There is a lot of smoothing to do.

I might just make a button template and insert real keys into the wombat BMP. This way I don't have to mess with the kml file...

Ken, It's underway.

I will post a realistic VGA BMP that works by Wombat3. I'll do it under a new thread when it's done.

Sorry to hijack this thread!!!!

I’ve just published my FULL roundup & tutorial on emulating HP’s calculators at http://www.aximsite.com/boards/emula...ws-mobile.html - don’t forget to check it out.

Also note that I’ve previously published a FULL roundup & tutorial on using TI’s calculators at http://www.aximsite.com/boards/appli...ws-mobile.html - it’s also worth checking out.

(Sorry for the flood – I want all interested parties to take note of these articles. They’re well worth reading, I think.)

Sorry to have left this thread dangling!

I completed realistic-looking BMP files for both VGA and qVGA devices. You can download them here:
