Logmein Trojan?

I have just downloaded Logmein so i can remote access my pc from my Axim, but i am constantly getting HIGH security alerts from Norton regarding a TransScout Trojan. is this Malware? Or is it part of the program that Norton recognizes as a threat? Thanks in advance.

I think Norton sees it as a way for an outside ip to access your computer. Seeing as that is what Logmein is designed for, I think you are ok. I have used it with no problems. Good Luck~

Norton = crap, that's why.

Norton has become the biggest piece of bloatware since...well...ever.

I suggest Kapersky for your Anti-viral needs.

If you need proof that it works, just know this:

IBM uses it on their home office servers.

And---

IT'S FREE

Beyond that, why not use one of the many free options for VNC found on these boards?

Yes, it is false info, but its not as norton is doing its job showing you that there is something that can access your pc from the outside world.....

Sorry, not trying to create a flame war so dont make it one...but:

MY TAKE ON AV SOFTWARE

All consumer AV software sucks, plain and simple they are all resource hogs and horrible.

Corp software like Norton Corp and Trend Office Scan work wonders.

Kaspersky is over rated....I have had lots of experience with viruses, there are a few goodies out there that target kaspersky and whats that...kaspersky does not know what to do and crashes....i was advised to use kaspersky by many, and its failed me 5+ times on different machines. MY favorite is the new Trend OfficeScan Corp. It runs off a server computer on your network, tracks threats, spyware, etc. and is just amazing, the problem is most home users it is not practical for and it is way out of mosts price range

BTW, kaspersky is pay for only on their site...its just a 30 day trial....

I hate consumer AV and in my mind there is no answer to what people should use as nothing is good that is consumer level, they all bog down pcs and cause more problems than they should, i dont know the answer, but if you can, get AV from your works system if they allow it

If you look on the site, Kapersky has a free license for individual users.
