Where can I find this type of program

I am looking for a program to use in carpentry or remodeling. I would like to find something that will help me figure how much paint, tile, grout, lumber etc etc etc...any ideas on where I can find it?

A PDA program, perhaps but, doubtful.

AutoCAD has "add-on" programs that can calculate all the "stuff." Very expensive programming.

I use AutoCAD building tanks, pipe, valving, controls, etc.
Some for Georgia Water, Zep Manufacturing & Finazzle Brothers too. Small world.

Doing a search on Handango.com I found a number of programs which might be what you want. You might give this construction calculator a try:

Construction Advantage Calculator

It looks fairly complete and well thought out. Not cheap at $70 but if it does what you need it is probably worth it. There is a trial available so you should be able to try it out for a week or two and see if it is what you need. If it doesn't look like what you want type "construction" without the quotes into the search box at the top of the page and hit search and you should find quite a few other options.

Ken, great find. I use AutoCAD and PocketCAD, very $$$$. This pocket construction calculator looks very nice! Excellent post! :approve:
