Activesync file transfer

Every time I try to transfer a file larger than 1 MB my Activesync disconnects and stops the file transfer about halfway through. Anyone know why this happens?

I drag & drop all kinds of files larger than 1 MB from my PC to my AX without any problem.

I transfered about 25 megs just yesterday. Try reinstalling Activesync.

How much free memory do you have. ActiveSync creates a temporary file in RAM before saving it to the location you specify. If you have a lot of programs running or simply little free memory left on the Axim, it will limit the size of a file you can transfer. Try closing some programs (use switcher if you don't have something like icbar or wisbar loaded).

Thanks for all the success stories. That makes me feel better.:p I have reinstalled Activesync twice with no luck. I have no programs running and plenty of free memory. Any other suggestions?

It's possible the problem is w/ your PC USB system, since there isn't any inherent reason for this behavior. Try a different socket and see if anyhting changes.
Is it just one specific file, or is it the same with any files?
Is there any conversion process being applied to the file?

I really do think it is a USB problem too. It is with all large files that this happens. I have tried all four sockets. I haven't had any problems at work. So I will try a big file at work on Monday and see if it works there.

There have been posts on other forums that suggest using an USB hub can be problematic (of course there are also posts suggesting some people can only use ActiveSync through a hub - go figure). Since you said 'four sockets,' I assume that's what you are doing. Have you tried plugging it directly into the computer's USB port?

Actually, my computer has 4 USB ports. I am not using a hub.
