Lectionary is my favorite. But, as in many things, personal preference means a lot.

Thanks for the Q, BTW. Looking up the URL prompted me to download the latest update.;)

I like WordBook from TranCreative (http://www.trancreative.com/). And theyhave another product that works with it called WordMaster that is excellent for people who can't spell, like myself. =)

Microsoft's is only good if the word you are looking for is in an ebook that you are reading.

There's a function where you can search manually for a word. You can input any word you want.

can you show how to do this with the encarta dictionary. Would really like a dictionary that I can just look up a word and not just from an ebook

Here's how...

After you start MS Reader, tap on Encarta Pocket Dictionary to open it as a book. In the lower right tap on "Lookup Definition..." Type the word you want to find, then either tap the return key on the keyboard or "Lookup Definition..." above the word you just typed. It will look it up for you.

Thanks, it works. I kept trying to tap the end of the word and never thought of tapping the return key.

WordBook is clearly the best available dictionary. It combines a large number of entries (135,000) with a proto-thesaurus. I have a Ph.D. and have yet to find a word I have looked up not be available in the dictionary. Sorry, one: susurrus!

You should have gone here: http://www.microsoft.com/reader/down...ctionaries.asp

Run the download file, and then sync your Axim.
