I have tried to test my x50v under 815MHz with Pocket Hack Master 2005 v3.15.
But
system halt........soft reset......black screen
.....soft reset a few times......still black screen
.....hard reset.....black screen......2nd hard
reset......I see the WM again

What is the point of this? Do you have applications written to take advantage of a faster processor than is available on any PPC?
Wow, won't overclocking make the axim very HOT! And rapidly deplete battery life? Always got my Axim set to 208Mhz to preserve power, and i don't need that much.

That's correct -- it will have a mostly negative impact. I just don't understand what the point of this is on our Axims. On PCs, overclocking will give you better framerates and rendering times on high-end games, but we don't have any software available for our PDAs that could even use this. TCPMP will play dvd-quality video on the x51v at about 40% CPU -- what else do we need?
I guess at this point I'm curious as to what people are doing with their Axims that makes the risk worthwhile. Does anyone know?
It's cold in a lot of places lately. Maybe they're using them as space heaters?
ROFL thanks inertial I needed a good laugh

Agreed. As I said, I realy mostly use it to bring my device down to 100 MHz to conserve power when it's off. I also like the today screen icon that allows me to toggele among 100, 200, 300, and 400 MHz speeds very quickly.

How about cube? It runs at a laggy 11~19fps at best depending on the map/view. There's a significant increase in framerate going from Auto to Maximum mode, so I imagine you'll get gain if the overclocking actually works. No interest in trying it myself, though, for all the reasons mentioned above.
