Exclamation Warning about WebIS Journal Sync and Active Sync 3.7

If anyone is using Journal sync and hasn't yet updated to active sync you might want to wait. I just purchased the full version of pocket informant as I wanted the journal facility and so also purchased the journal sync conduit. I found that it wouldn't work and so went onto the WebIS forum to find that another user who had upgraded to active sync 3.7 had 'lost' the ability to sync journal and the site administrator replied that he hadn't tested journal sync with active sync 3.7 yet. Perhaps not surprising, but it does say on their site that it is compatible with active sync 3.5 and above.

I have posted my experience, which is that the check boxes don't appear against the journal icon in 'options'. I'll let you know what the reply is as soon as I have the information.

Exclamation Update on problem with journal sync and AS 3.7

It's official; the two don't work together and Microsoft are denying that it is anything to do with their update and WebIS are suggesting that it is an issue related to the update. Seems unwise to but journal sync until this issue has been resolved.

Just FYI, I'm using AS 3.7 and JournalSync from WebIS without a problem.

Thats interesting jared - did you install active sync 3.7 after journal sync and did you install the 3.7 upgrade on top of 3.5, 3.6 or a clean install.

The reason for asking is that WebIS have had more than my report that this is a problem and they are keen to find out the operating systems and actice sync set ups of those with and without problems

I just upgraded over 3.6 no problem. I am running win2k with SP3 if that helps any with your search. I did have to go in and re-check Journal on my options, if I remember correctly. If you have any other questions, let me know.

Thanks Jared,

WebIS have offered me a beta version of journal sync to try as they say that the install has changed 'a bit'. Not sure what they mean but will be giving it a try. I am using XP Home OS so maybe there is a difference there?

:)

Could be. Are you using the beta (4.1) of PI (not 4.01)? I am still using 4.01. I doubt it would be on the axim, but you never know. WebIS has awesome tech support. I've been very impressed so far. As a former p**m user, I didn't think that CESD's support for Datebk5 could be topped, but WebIS is close. Best of luck to you and let me know if I can be of assistance.

I've now been using the beta version since last post and the journal now seems to be synching fine.
