Have an Axim x51v. What are the benefits of looking into add-on file manager apps as opposed to the built-in file manager in 5.0?

Personally, I like what some of the 3rd Party software offers such as (de)compression (ZIP, RAR, etc.), encryption, Registry Editor, DOS prompt, split view, tree\details views and that only touches on what some offer. Over the years, I have found myself going back to gsFinder+. It seems to do what I need (minus encryption) and best of all it is free!

total commander...freeware and worth it...has all of what was listed above...give or take a few..

I like GSFinder, free, and worth every penny.

Don't Panic!

The number one reason for a third party file explorer is that you can actually see what the file extension is with most of them.

total command can do multi-file-selection copy or deletion, pretty cool.
the multi selected files don't have to be consecutive.
