I was going to reply but I just realised that I have PocketStreets 2002, not the 2003 version that you posted about..

Had to use it yesterday as a matter of fact. Needed to get downtown for a job interview, downloaded the Atlanta Downtown map and the greater Atlanta map just to be sure. Worked perfectly, I would recommend it, nothing like not having to carry around extra pieces of paper containing maps and directions in your vehicle.

I too have Streets and Trips 2003 on my Axim. I have been using the 2002 version for some time on my laptop and was very happy with it. But one thing seems lacking on the PPC version: there is no ability to have it calculate directions. Is this because there isn't enough computing resource on a PPC? Or some other reason?
Or is it there and I missed it? ;)

That was my biggest complant aswell, I looked around but it doesn't seem that it has the point to point directions feature. :(

Just got Streets and Trips 2003 from Sam's Club for $14.94 after $20.00 mail in rebate. After I install and play around with it I will post some observations. I think you can only load maps to the Axim, but will check it out.
I have used Mapquest for directions and loaded it to the Axim using AvantGo. Works pretty good.

I've been using Pocket Streets 2003 for a while now but I don't really like it.
It's probably not the fault of the program cause I love using Streets and Trips but the Pocket version just has too many shortcomings.
I think in order for Pocket Streets to be any good the program is going to be huge.
As someone had said, you can't plot out a route.
And, you have to install maps so planning a trip from city to city or state to state makes it very difficult.
It's a great program but I think it's not yet feasible for the handheld until they can fit the whole program on the PPC. Or, at least make the maps mergeable (is that a word?) so you don't have to load a new map when you enter a new city.
I'm looking at alternatives but unfortunately for me, I live in Canada so there doesn't seem to be many other options.

PocketStreets only uses maps created from the desktop version or downloaded from the web site. You can enter address or places and the map will show you where they are. You cannot create driving directions.

Unfortunately for us Canadian folks, PocketMap doesn't cover our area.
