Application install location problems

I'm not sure if this post is in the right area, so my apologies ahead of time if it isn't.

I jusdt got a kingston compact flash 128 mb card for really cheap.

I want to creat a program files directory on it and install applications inside that folder like it normally does on the normal storge space.

i know how to create directories, but the only options that show up on install are
- main memory
- built-in storage
- cf card

what i'm lookng for is somthing like cf card\program files\"program names"

does anybody know a way to do this? I know it's a small thing, but i like my files organized.

Thanks for your help.

I always just save it to the CF card. Then I use the "explore" function on activesync to create my directories.

but then my shortcuts in the start menu don't work and the pocket pc no longer knows where it's installed for the uninstall operations either. I didn't know if there was a registry tweak or somthing else i could do. I just want to install my applications, and not spend another 45 minutes changing paths and stuff to make it all work again.

I've tried to install applications to the CF card, but it seems that they all run MUCH slower from the CF card....is this right ?

Is there any difference from CF card to CF card in terms of speed ?

I've also tried to install to CF, and then manually move the files but usually the applications have problems with this (just as the desktop

I just think its easier to install where it wants to in teh default root of the CF card. It looks clearner if its a sub directory but sometimes it might not work right, there are only so many subdirectories that some programs can read into and chances are that if you move it aroudn too it might not work anymore, best bet is to just let it install where it wants then create a custom programs shortcut folder in your start menu to get quick access to stuff.
