List Program v Wallet Program

Both list programs and wallet programs seem the same to me except that wallet programs are encrypted. But my question is why buy both? Does anyone have any thoughts? Does anyone own both?

I suggest you try a demo of each, I use both ListPro and Ewallet and find them very different. Ewallet is great for keeping all my credit cards and assorted passwords and numbers secure and easily available. On the other hand ListPro is great for creating lists of whatever. I use it for shopping lists all the time. You create a list with all the items that you commonly buy and just flag items in the list as you go through your week that you realize you will need and when you are ready to go shopping you hide unflagged items. Then while shopping check the items as you go along will hide these. It can also be used as a todo list for a specific project or an inventory of DVD's CD's or whatever allowing you to avoid accidentally buying duplicates.

I have and use both, plus a DB program.
  • SplashID for passwords, accounts, etc. Encrypted.
  • HandyShopper for checkbox lists like shopping lists.
  • HanDBase for lists that I want to filter and view in many different ways. Also allows for custom fields.

I think Freewallet gives you only a few lists.

I want my system passwords, bank account info, etc. in a program that requires a password. Although some list programs allow a password to be used to open the program I don't have any lists that need password protection.

Update: I just bought FlexWallet on sale for $4.95. $20.00 off the regular price. It's a great program. Easy to use. I created a wallet, then I thought about trying out a list program. I was using Noterrific, a free list program w/a desktop conduit, but it crapped out on me for some reason. So I created a product list in FlexWallet.

It gives you the ability to create a custom template, so I created one for products with all the fields that I wanted and none I didn't want. It lets you enter notes as well. Personally, I can't justify spending $30 on a list program b/c this seems to do it all. As usual I'm open to thoughts and opinions.
