I have recently upgraded my 300 mh AXIM to ROM version A03. I also have upgraded ActiveSync to version 3.7.

I had numerous problems with the ActiveSync upgrade but finally got the software to load.

However, when attmpting to connect to my laptop (which successfully connected many times before), I get no connection through the USB cable. The USB port on the laptop is functioning and I can connect via IR.

I noticed on the PDA when selecting ActiveSync -> tools -> options - the only thing available for connection is Desktop @ 19200. There is no option for USB which existed before.

Any ideas on how to get that option back?

I have tried reinstalling ActiveSync many times but it only updates the PC and not the PDA. Removing from PDA memory doesn't have any effect either.

It sounds to me more like you are having a problem with the USB connection on your laptop than with active sync. I would check to see what USB devices are recognized in your device manager, whatever is there you may want to remove and let the device reinstall when you connect the Axim next time. Also, just for troubleshooting purposes, what happens when you connect a USB mouse or keyboard?

Thank you for your help. I was able to make a connection. I'm not sure what I changed but when I rebooted my laptop, a successful connection occurred. I don't really want to criticize anyone's software but, I had a connection before and when I reenabled the "Magic Button" program, my connection terminated and I had a tough time getting the connection back.

My only problem now is that when I disconnnect my AXIM to go to a meeting and return, I must reboot my laptop in order for the connection to reestablish.

Any more ideas?

OH GOOD!!! I thought I was losing my mind.

I connected my axim to my PC at home and it syncs fine. I set up an additional connection to my work PC for my Calendar, etc. It worked perfectly for a week and now it's like my PC is forgetting what to do with the axim. Everytime I try to connect I get the Unplug or Eject Hardware window for the USB Device... In order to resolve it I actually have to unistall Active Sync and Reinstall it and reestablish the connection. Rebooting or retrying isn't working for me.

I'm still running activesync 3.5, so maybe i should upgrade... That way at least I would only have to reboot. LOL!!!

If anyone has any ideas or sugestions on something I should change, please let me know!!
