I know a lot of people use it for video - in fact, what I've been reading is that people use 'something else' (GSPlayer, PocketMusic, etc.) for audio and TSPMP for video.
Is TCPMP not a good audio player for PPCs? I was curious because so many people seemed to prefer it ONLY for video. I went with it just cause I like the idea of one app. for all my media files, plus it shows album art which I have for all my tracks and which no other music software seems to offer. But if I'll get significantly better sound from another app., I switch in a minute.
Any thoughts or feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanks...!
The only thing I can think of is that TCPMP might not look visually pleasing or it is awkard to listen audio with. (you having to go through a few menus) For the most part I personally use WMP10 for audio and TCPMP for video.

Addition who needs that kind of stuff any way huh?

It is. TCPMP's main disadvantage is that you do have to go through more menus to play music, but it does it pretty efficiently. GSPlayer or MortPlayer are two good and free players, although I've had some lockup issues with MortPlayer.
TCPMP is great for audio, if you program the hardware buttons for changing songs.
I like Mortplayer better because it has more options (today screen plugin, scheduled wake-up, playlist autodetection)

That's what I found. I got Vitobuttonmapper to assign stylus taps to hardware buttons. After that, navigating through the menus is a breeze...I think I'll definitely stick with TCPMP.
Although, does anyone know where I can post some suggestions for future versions? I looked on the main site and I didn't find anything...
thanks in advance...!
TCPMP (current version) also displays album art if you put a "cover.jpg" file in the music's directory, which is simpler for me than using ID3 tags to attach images for WMP10.

For WMP10 all you have to do is put a jpg in the album folder and name it folder.jpg. How is that difficult.
Ive tried lots of audio players. Windows Media Player 10 for Windows Mobile 5 supports the caching of the audio to RAM. The 2003 SE version does not do this, so its no good for me and my microdrive.
Ive mainly used Conduits Pocket Player and I recently started using TCPMP since it added album art. TCPMP uses less CPU power when playing music than the other players I have tried. With Conduits Pocket Player or Windows Media Player I need to run my CPU at 208 Mhz. TCPMP can handle playing all my music while running at just 104 MHz.
TCPMP is the only media player I have found that caches your files into my x50v\x51v 16 MB of video memory. So I have more free RAM when listening to music than with other players. With the lower CPU and RAM usage I can listen to music and play any of my non accelerated games at the same time.
Also TCPMP is the only media player I have found that allows me to change the audio output (Stereo, Reverse Stereo, Mono Joined, Mono Left and Mono Right). Most people are probably saying who gives a shit. But if you happen to take your Pocket PC to work and the stereo at work only has one working channel, you might see why I love this feature. Whenever I tried to play something like the Beatles I would only hear half the song (they love seperating parts of the song such as vocals to just one channel). Being able to change the output to mono joined while Im at work is awesome.
Alls TCPMP needs to be the perfect player is a better GUI with the ability to create your own skins, better one handed navigation and a robust library to catalogue your music and video collection. Plus the album artwork feature doesn't work perfectly and could use some tweaking.
