Hello Everyone.
I was wondering if there is software that can recognize my voice and form words for different applications....That looks terrible. Let me try it again.
Is there voice recognition softwre I can use for third party applications? Like for my Palm-tech Home Inspection Software?

Welcome to the site.
Are you looking for voice recognition software to launch various software, or are you looking for voice recognition software for speech to text?

If you are looking to launch software, search for contacts, etc, look at Microsoft Voice Command. I don't believe that there is a speech to text software for the PPC currently.

I thought I saw an alternative to Voice Command mentioned on Aximsite a while back.

there was an alternative from VITO but some of the reviews weren't thrilled with it in terms of getting it set up. At Least that is what I understood.

I was looking for software for text. I did see that other software at an electronic store. It opens various programs by speech. thats not the one. I would like to be able to speek text in a progrwm.

Hey Graikos,

I have been following voice programs on the pocket pc platform for a while, and as far as speech to text (dictation) software, you are pretty much out of luck. There are programs like Voice Central (A+ in my books), Voice2go, and Microsoft voice command. There is also a good organizer program from Speereo (forget the name) that is really good for appointment and dailing, but as far as text-to-speech, you are pretty much out of luck.

If anyone knows of a dictation program I would love to hear about too!

Speereo Voice Organizer is OK for dictation.
It's actually something that shares features of PIM and Dictaphone.
The cool thing is, due to high compression of audio files, which sound OK on lousy smartphone speakers, you can record approximately 1 hour in 1 megabyte.
