Owner Info Password Protected

I was wondering if there are any apps or hacks that make the Owner Info area unchangable (locked) unless you put in a password. I dont like how anyone can change it at any time (if i loose the axim, all they have to do is type in a new owner)

Nope.

But if you lose it they can just hard reset too right? It would not buy you anything.

If data privacy is a concern (and it probably should be) then you can password protect your device. If you lose it then at least they cannot get to the data, apart from the stuff on storage card or Built In Storage.

You can do this in two ways:

1) Password-protect your PDA

2) Use Tweaks2K2 to hide the "Owner Information" and "Today" Icons in Settings. That way, nobody can change the owner information unless they know how to use Tweaks2K2. Then again, as noted above, a hard reset isn't that hard to do...

I doubt the average person would be able to do a hard reset though

Are you kidding me? I did a hard reset 10 minutes after I bought my used Axim from a Co-worker who didn't know how to use it. Just downloaded the instructions and went to town, easy as falling off a log.

All they have to do is let the battery go flat. Typically if you lose your X30 you're not likely to lose the charger with it.

One disadvantage of pass protecting yourAxim is that if you should lose your Ax, the finder won't be able to find out who the Ax belongs to.
This morning at work, I received a call from one of the employees, she said she found my Palm C & I didn't even realized I had lost it! When I pick my device there were finger smudges on the screen, she was using her finger to open some applications until she found my name.

The X5 has the option to show the ownership info on the password screen. (I can't find the option right now, as my dad has the X5, but when I have it, I'll try and get back to ya.)
