I have found a bug with Pocket Informant 2005 and Dell Switcher Bar

Is anyone else having this issue?

You can reproduce the error by starting Pocket Informant and then proceeding to close it with the Dell Switcher Bar, the screen will freeze and it will require a soft reset.

I did not have this issue with Magic Button closing this same aplication, but MB is a buggy POS and has so many other annoyances, so now i am running out of ideas, any suggestions

Sorry to hear you have troubles. MagicButton works 100% of the time on my PDA.

Interesting, could you please go to the dell wlan utility and tap under settings and tell me if you are able to close the "OK" on top right and report back to me, that will freeze my screen when running magic button.

  1. Start/Settings/Connections
  2. Dell WLAN Utility
  3. Setting
  4. OK
  5. OK
  6. X

seems OK to me ...

A thought occurred to me. Is your PDA running any other software that hooks into the "Close=Minimize-vs-real-close" behavior of WM? I did have some odd behaviors with MB when I was also running another product.

If i do a fresh install of MB and nothing else after a hard reset the same problem still occurs

I can only think that its a combination of MB and another program on your part causing to somehow make it work properly, other then that i cant think of anything else.

MB Settings:

Aha, i found a solution for that specific problem, by looking at your screenshot i could not help but notice that you had a Tap and Hold delay of 200ms which is different from the 400ms default, by making that change solved the problem! :approve:

Now i just have to hope that my other issue with made the OS lock itself on the program screen does not occur again, but then again it could also be directly related to it, so in fact i might have solved all my MB problems. :)

Keeping my fingers crossed, thanks! :)

No offense, mate, but that is not logical. ;)

Under Start/Settings/System tap on the System icon. You're ROM is A05?

Sometimes it's best just to claim victory and not ask how. Trying to figure out why is less important that having it work, after all.

It seems logical to me, programs often tend to mess with default settings so it may be helping one another, i am not sure how to explain it using the correct terminology, English is not my primary language.

Yes, but the usual result of a series of compounded errors is a catastrophe, not the desired result!

I can see that it has helped but the error is in fact still there :realmad:

It will freeze again if i press and hold "OK" for a second, i am going to go ahead and keep messing with those settings and see the outcome of it.

Btw, I am running WM2003 A05

I've had issues with MB also. I've loaded it twice and removed it twice. Each time, shortly after I load it, all my icons end up with horizontal line through them. Both on the today screen and in the programs area and such. Does anyone know a fix for that?
