Ebook Readers....

Can anyone suggest a few good ones? I want to be able to open basically any document file in read only format, and read at my pleasure, a big bonus if the app remembers where I left off in each ebook or document.

Appreciate any help.

Thanks.

No such animal. There are a lot of different Digital Rights Management schemes and no one reader opens them all.

I hope this doesn't turn into one of those foot in mouth quotes. ... ;)

I really like MobiPocketReader. I also use adobe as well as a couple others that must be proprietary to the books they are attched to. However, if I could import everything into the MobiPocketReader, I would.

Does mobipocket reader really do .LIT files? How about ms's "secure" files, (look over at fictionwise) ?

But not .LIT I bet. Why ms left msreader off newer WM devices I'll never understand.

The best reader I've used is MobiPocket Pro. It will read text files, HTML files, and MobiPocket format (.prc). It will not natively read Acrobat or MSReader files. For Acrobat files (at least text-only eBooks), I usually export to HTML from Acrobat, and then convert to MobiPocket format with one of their converter tools. For .doc files, I convert over.

For MS Reader files (.LIT), I don't really have a method - anyone else?

To add to this thread - what do people use for AudioBook readers? I usually use the Audible reader for Audible format books, but it doesn't scale up to VGA mode. If I want to listen to MP3-based audiobooks, are there any MP3 players that support bookmarking so I can resume where I left off?

I run a back-level version of iSilo (Palm .prc under StyleTap), PalmReaderPro (also a Palm .prc under StyleTap), Repligo, AdobeReader, and MicroSoftReader. These cover my needs.
