Can't get cabinstl to work

I am runnning my ax x51v with wm5 and downloaded the lastest version of cabinstl. I can choose the .cab and the path easily it just when i click install i get the prompt message saying this cab will be installed here continue i says yes, then the standard wm5 installer pops up asking me to install onto the device or sd card and if i click either of these it just does the standard and does not install in to the path i set. is there some registry hack that i have missed to get cabinstl to work. i amd still running ROM A01 not had any problems apart from this.
Help will be much appreciated.

okay i have checked around for a while and finnally found one person who said it wasn't compatible with wm5, but this mad porgrammer's filedialogbox will. so i tried that but when i apply the rgistry change to faskoption and faskdest it still just brings up the irratating 'device or sd?' screen. also after a while when i go back to my registry these two have set themsleves back to default.
Any help please. i don't want to install anything until i can make it nice a tidy, i hate having a messy drive.
