woohoo!
this should definitely be front page Material. It's having problems with caligrapher on 20003se.

Since my IE is broken there may be other issues that are not really related to Opera.

Since Opera is my browser of choice on the pc, I'll definitely be test surfing this model for the next few weeks. :approve: :approve: :approve:

You can find the review (with a lot of screenshots and bug reports) at http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/ind...3&p=457&more=1

In a few words: this version is much worse than I expected. It's not only pretty featureless but also VERY buggy.

Despite the obvious of "it will stop working", does anyone know what will be in 45 days? Will it be for purchase or free? If for purchase, any idea on price?

I also wonder how long until the next beta is out that fixes more problems mentioned in the link above.

I tried Oprera out. Took it off my Axim X51v an hour after I tried it. Full of bugs and locks up, they got a ways to go. Tried Mozilla Minimo and it was even worse. Hope they get there act together, I don't like using the featureless MIE.

I got to admit, Opera Mobile is a great program for PPC. It has the best page formatting technique I have ever seen in a PPC browser and makes the text small (small enough to see) so I can see much more on the screen. My only complaints are that it has a cache in the RAM and the bookmarks aren't syncronised with the bookmarks in the real Opera 8.5 or IE's mobile favourites.

Check out this thread.

The cache can be moved and other changes can also be made. I have moved my cache and all of the sub directories that opera installed in the main memory and everything (except some fonts) is working fine. Actually, better 'cause I don't get the memory errors.

I'm not a fan of the keyboard shortcuts, since I don't use the keyboard much during surfing, but the cache changes definitely makes this a keeper.

For Dobermann, Opera currently sells one of their mini browsers for 29 USD. I think I've read that this will be the cost of this version. I think it needs a few more beta runs before I pay, but all in all a definite improvement.

I believe the favorites are kept in the .adr file and that some cut and paste works there. I haven't tried that so tinker at our own risk.

edit: added link to thread
