Any Alternatives to Word Mobile?

Windows word mobile is severely limited in numerous ways. Are there any better word processor / text entry software programs available? Free would be desireable if possible, but ultimately function is more important.

Another option is WordCommands which is a free Pocket Word add-in that makes it much more usable.

Off Topic:

Where did he go BTW? I remember the kid who wrote the program (He was still in High School at the time, and that's a kid by anybody's yardstick) when he worked the whole thing out on Pocket PC Passion.

Lagorio mentions being PPC 2002 compatible. Does it work on WM5?

As for textmaker, I am having a hard time believing it is worth $50. Maybe the trial will convince me otherwise, but I don't know...

They sell textmaker on ebay cheaper. Less overhead I guess.

Dunno, but it is free, and doesn't actually change Word... it just acts as a wrapper. So there's not much risk in trying it.

I bought Textmaker for 22 bucks at Ebay. It really is worth every penny. It is unbelievable how well this ppc version corresponds to the Windows version.

I was switching over from the Palm world in September. I was quite satisfied with Wordsmith for Palm. Textmaker is well above it. The What-you-see-is-what you get adaption is perfect. Footnotes, endnotes, index, comments, perfect preview, lexicon etc. are of similiar quality like those of WinWord.

Buy it if you write a lot and if you want to use your ppc scipts directly for print.

If you can wait a while, I think on the 11th of November (11/11)Textmaker marks all their software down to $11. At least they did two years ago when I bought it.

I bought it then too, but this past November (2005), TextMaker was not included.
