I've been an Avantgo user for awhile now. I normally read the New York Times; NY Post; and Sportlines.
Started to use RSS feeder/reader to get stories/articles to read. I am currently using Egress and find it to be very nice program. One thing I dont like about RSS is that some (or most) only feed you the headlines... and maybe times you would have to go online to read the rest of the stories. I dont know about everyone else... but in New York City there are no wifi connection anywhere underground... (refering to the MTA system). It gets me mad when i click on the line and dont get to read my article. sure i can read it when i get to my office.
Now I just started to play with iSilo. so far its pretty good. I got some link that seem to work.... but then there are some site that are so huge after it converts for PDA to view. I've also heard of Sunrise and Vade Mecum (or Plucker). I havent try these yet.
any suggestion what might be good to try or use for offline reading? and what site/links are you reading daily?

To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
I use Mobipocket/avantgo at the moment, but am using avantgo less and less.
So I'd be greatful for any other suggestions :)

I recently just started messing around w/ Plucker/Vade Mecum and the whole process seems to work quite well. Give that a shot if iSilo doesn't hack it for you.
I read on the handheld mostly books that I've downloaded (I love isilo), though for news I read online. I'm not fond of RSS feeds for news. I think they're too shallow.
I'm looking for an RSS/Offline viewer, as well. It pretty much has to store the entire story offline, as I am not always near a hotspot and my phone doesn't do bluetooth. I've tried PocketRSS, as well as a few others, but they don't do this.
So, if anyone knows how I can get this functionality, please let me know.
Is there a news/rss reader that will download the "real" news item...
My problem is that I get an rss feed from digg or slashdot or whatever.
The link in the article takes me to digg or slashdot - NOT to the article I want to read.
There is probably no way to get around this but I thought I'd ask....
TIA

Mobipocket; grab the whole newspaper thru their rss feeds.
I was trying to figure out how to get a newsreader, or some substitute, to download the entire stories, but I finally gave up and started listening to podcasts on my Axim.
I just download them on my PC and copy them to my Axim (via Active Sync) and I am ready to go. I have about 100 to 140 MB to listen to each day.
