Hey everyone,

Is there a way to making Ripboard be my default keybaord? Whenever I am in VGA mode is tap on an input box, the default dell (really small keyboard) pops up and I have to manually select Ripboard. Is there a way to change this behavior?

Better yet, is there a way to make Ripboard come up in VGA and default keyboard in non VGA mode?

I have just tried to do this with a wm5 device, and no not possible.
causes your pda to become a white brick... ie white screen of death.
used both registry hack and sktools to set default sip to ribboard causes WSOD

If your using windows mobile 2003 the registry hack and sktools setting default sip to ripboard works, but I wouldn't try it on a wm5 device, unless you've got a good stable backup to restore :)

Not true. I do not know about Ripboard, but you can change the default keyboard. By default the Keyboard is used and reselected on a softreset.

Its a simple reg edit. It works for the other built-in keyboards.

Good Luck. If it works, export the modified reg edit so that you can just import the file in case of a hardreset. Thats what I did. Post results.

is true, sorry mate, but I've tried it.

as I was saying this is specific to ripboard and windowsMobile5, does not work as default sip on boot (with either reg key change, or using sktools), unless someone has found a different registry hack that can make it work, but yes, reg hack/sktools probably does work for other sip's, but the initial question was for ripboard, and I had a specific answer.

I have done the registry hack to get Ripboard to work on boot with wm2003se and works, but so far no luck with getting it to work with wm5 devices (x50v wm5 upgraded, and eten m600+).
