Mad ActiveSync 3.7 problems...

Ok boys, I've done searches and have yet to find any answer for my problem.

I have a Axim 400 with A03 and am trying to sync between my home machine, Win2k SP3 and Outlook XP SP2 and the same at the office, but each time I sync it at home, and then at work, it thinks it has never been synced before and my options are to let it make duplicates or to overwrite the values, this goes back and fourth.

I'm really starting to think I should have kept my Palm Vx.

My home machine is the master .pst, so I del. the partnership at the office, and did a hardset on the axim and del. the .pst at the office and then tried to sync everything so it would think its the first time its been copied, no luck.

Also the conflict resolution blows, compared to the Palm desktop. I loved seeing what details were different between the palm and outlook and I could choose per record.

Ok guys, please tell me I am just a dumbass and don't know what I am doing cause I really like the Axim but the OS and sync SUCK!

Ok, I think I know what its doing. I have many of my contacts in outlook with a birthday and aniversay AND that puts a entry in the calender, so I think activesync is adding them as two entries.

I'm gonna take home my work laptop and play with them at home, I am gonna let it sync again and let it put in the dub. addresses then del them with that cool utility and hope like hell that fixes my problems.

Any ideas?

I read somewhere that Dell Didn't include Outlook 2002 but Outlook 2000 due to the fact that there were sync problems with 2002. Maybee that is why you cant sync with OfficeXP. You might want to give the Outllok 2000 that came on the Axim's companion CD a try. Hope this helps?

I noticed that when I got my CD but just ignored that. I did get it work, I did a hard reset on the axim, synced it with my home pc.

went to work, removed active sync, del all the profiles it had cached and del the profile in mail and made a new with with different name.

Works now.

I sync with Outlook 2002 all the time. It's waaay better than outlook 2K.

The problem the OP was having is related to the sync settings. If the office setting is the one you want at home, then set it so that the office machine overrides the data on the Axim. Similarly, on the home machine or laptop, set it so the Axim overrides data on the laptop.

or you can do what has saved me more than once and use Intellisync for MSN (yea, I paid the $80 for the MSN subscription and haven't regretted it at all...much more functional than AOL) and then sync up everything with your MSN account with much more specific and direct instructions. Works great!
