PocketXpdf (especially tested on X51V ) :)

Best things are FREE !!! ;)

~~~~~
PocketXpdf is a no-frills viewer for native PDF files for the Pocket PC platform. The rendering engine is a port of Xpdf. The program is currently in an early development stage. PocketXpdf has been tested on an ASUS MyPal running Windows Mobile 2003 and on a Dell Axim X51v running Windows Mobile 5. It has not been tested on earlier versions, so it cannot be guaranteed that it will work on these systems. The Screenshots on this page are taken from the Windows Mobile 2003 SE and Windows Mobile 5 emulators provided with Visual Studio.
Looks like something that I would like to try instead of Adobe's Acrobat Reader. God knows I've had a couple of issues with Acrobat Reader. Thanks for the tip and I'll give it a whirl.
The only issue I have with PocketXpdf on my A06 x51v is that it locks up when trying to open up large PDF files even if the file is stored in the ROM. I did find that it performs much faster than Adobe when dealing with smaller files but it has a very bad problem with large files containig a lot of images. PocketXpdf does render the files much better so they look very good on a my VGA screen.
EDIT: Are there any plans for an Adobe update for the VGA ppc's?
When I can get it to open files it works very nicely on my X50V...
It stuggles with even what I'd call small files (250k), but shows a lot of promise.
I'm not removing my VGA forced Adobe yet though
Well, rather than bothering with PocketXpdf anymore, I am just going to USA Adobe with the VGA hack.
You are going to USA ? or,You are going to USE ?
Anyway, I got your point, this PocketXpdf needs to improve much more if it even wants to compete with Adobe with VGA hack. So far, its nothing compared to adobe.
Sorry for the typo. I meant use.
Adobe does have a quite a few bugs though. I sometimes download my local newspaper in PDF format. It is normally a 4 meg file. When I open it with Adobe some of the headlines are jumbled or missing letters. The news text is fine though. It is weird. Anyway, better than nothing because PocketXpdf just locks up when I try to open them.
